A century of innovation deserves a bold vision for the future. Swarovski Mobility was honored to contribute to The Centum, a visionary concept car unveiled by our long-standing partner the Marquardt Group in celebration of its 100th anniversary on May 17, 2025. Designed to capture both legacy and progress, The Centum exemplifies how strategic partnerships and advanced materials can redefine luxury in automotive design.
At the heart of this concept vehicle lies a shared ambition: to elevate the emotional and sensory experience of modern mobility. Swarovski Mobility brought its signature crystal craftsmanship and material innovation to The Centum, showcasing how precision-cut crystal elements can enhance both form and function within next-generation automotive interiors.
Among the key design features contributed by Swarovski Mobility is an exquisite Crystal Rotary Controller—a crystal centerpiece that exemplifies technical and aesthetic excellence. This multidirectional control element is custom-engineered with a cylindrical cavity for static inlays, offering a seamless integration of beauty and utility. Developed exclusively for Marquardt’s centennial concept, the crystal structure showcases a three-stage color gradient created by layering different crystal hues, bonded with optically invisible adhesive for a flawless finish. This centerpiece also offers customizable functionality. Its core can display a static logo or a dynamic digital interface, with a unique rotation mechanism that ensures the center remains perfectly aligned—a testament to Swarovski Mobility’s engineering precision and commitment to detail.
Complementing this are refined crystal accents seamlessly integrated into the steering wheel and other interior surfaces, creating a luxurious, immersive cockpit environment. Each component reflects Swarovski’s dedication to sensory design, craftsmanship, and innovation in automotive interiors.
The Centum also spotlights the value Swarovski Mobility brings to concept vehicle development—blending material science, design expertise, and a deep understanding of automotive trends. Our contribution to this concept car demonstrates how crystal can be much more than a decorative element—it can be a tactile, interactive part of a vehicle’s user interface and identity.
As automotive design continues to evolve, so does the demand for personalization, sensory richness, and advanced material integration. Swarovski Mobility remains at the forefront of this transformation, working closely with OEMs and design teams to shape the future of luxury mobility.
